Auch, stream quality at least was pretty horrible.

Because the stream encoder is automated the streams have to have a standard resolution and aspect ratio, so the video has to be stretched to fit if the aspect ratio is different from 16:10 hence the bad quality.

I'll look into some solutions for the future streams though, like encoding at a fraction of the original resolution thus keeping the aspect ratio (or using some standard resolutions for different aspect ratios, will see what is better) and using the player's built-in functionality to stretch/letterbox/cut the sides depending on the user's choice.
